Set of Prints of the drawings are available with Rick vanKirk. All are encouraged to get a set of B-Size prints of these drawings. As conveyed earlier Al von Halle will chair the review. Following will be the review committee members: C. Neumeyer R. Parsells L. Dudek H. Carnevale M. Viola J. Levine or designated Safety representative S. Ramakrishnan Please note that a sub-contract was awarded to Burns Engineering to engineer the system. The preliminary design review will be held on February 17th at 13:30 hours in LSB B-318, to discuss the preliminary drawings submitted by Burns Engineering for the DC Transmission towers from D to C Site for the NCSX Power system. These drawings are available from Rick van Kirk (x 2350). Please make it convenient to attend. The important point to note is that the transmission line crosses two roads ( similar to the existing RF Line towers). The clearance of the base of the structural member of the tower is shown as 18' and that for the cable tray is 20'. The route has been developed in close coordination with Ronnie Koon who identified the approximate location of underground utilities. Based on the chosen locations of the tower bases (after the finalization of the design), Ronnie Koon will place markers in these locations. This will facilitate a prospective sub-contractor to identify proposed locations. Also before the final digging permit is given, further Survey will be arranged by Facilities Department to insure that the task is performed SAFELY and without damaging existing utilities. All concerns that are submitted via chits will be addressed and resolved, after which Burns Engineering will be asked to submit a final set of drawings for the project. Subsequently an FDR will be held on the subject. FDR will essentially confine to the PDR chits and their resolution. Raki
