Summary of Results

The charge of this committee was to review the final design of the D to C Site Transmission System for the NCSX project as designed by The Burns Group, Philadelphia, PA.  Available at this meeting were completed drawings of the structural support system and cable trays to provide DC power to the NCSX Modular/TF/PF coil systems from the D-Site supplies.  Also available was the final version of the Statement of Work for the installation of this system.  This review followed a CDR held in May of 2002, a PDR held in September of 2003, and an intensive peer review of the preliminary drawings of this system in February of 2004, during which 57 chits were generated.  The thrust of this FDR was to review the resolution of the concerns (chits) from the review of the preliminary drawings in preparation for releasing g this engineering package to Procurement.  The  proposed schedule calls fro resolving all chits from this FDR, thereby finalizing this design by 5/19/04, initiating a procurement action by 5/21/04, and completing the system installation by 9/15/04.  The review committee agreed that vendor responses to the procurement action are needed to finalize cost and schedule estimates.
