The task list on the NCSX Engineering web page at http://www.pppl.gov/me/NCSX_Engineering/Work_Plans/WBS6.htm. A meeting to discuss the status of preparations for the CDR was Tuesday, February 19th with Larry Dudek, Wayne Reiersen, and Bob Simmons in attendance. The purpose of the meeting was to review the status of preparations for the upcoming CDR with the goal to get the non-WBS 1 systems completed before the end of March to provide sufficient time to focus on WBS 1. Items discussed were: (1) WBS 62 C-Site Water Cooling - although there has not been an update of heat loads, Larry indicated that the existing C-site system has lots of capacity and, unless someone needs high temperature water, there should not be any problems accommodating any changes in heat loads. Actions are as indicated on the WBS 6 task list posted on the web. (2) WBS 63 Cryogenic Systems - the design concept is significantly changed since the PVR in that He cooling is no longer required, thus saving the significant expense of the He refrigerator. However, the key issues here are to develop a new concept and obtain project concurrence, establish the interfaces with WBS 1 and this WBS element, revise the WBS dictionary, finalize the heat loads, develop the cost and schedule inputs as per the WBS 6 task list on the web. Tentative cryogenic heat loads (with TBD information in red) is located at http://www.pppl.gov/me/NCSX_Engineering/Technical_Data/c01r00/CryoData.htm (3) WBS 64 Utility Systems - no changes from the PVR anticipated. Actions are as indicated on the WBS 6 task list on the web. (4) WBS 65 - VV and PFC Cooling Systems (Outside the Cryostat) - since the PFCs and ribs are no longer in the baseline project, a revised (and probably simpler) concept will need to be developed and approved, a revised WBS dictionary developed, and cost and schedule inputs provided. It was agreed that Larry would discuss the tasks with his people and get back to Bob or Wayne with modifications to the tentative dates posted on the web. It was also tentatively agreed that the next meeting would be held late in the week of March 11th to finalize the design concept and determine additional information needed. Bob S.
