There was a Final design Review for the VV Prep Station on Mon, September 19, at 9:00am. The committee and invitees are listed below: Cog: Tom Brown RLM: Brad Nelson Tom Brown presented the design and will submit documentation material and chits as required by the NCSX Engineering Office. Committee: Mike Cole - Chairman Paul Goranson Brent Stratton George Labik Invitees: Wayne Reiersen Hutch Neilson Jim Lyon Dave Williamson Jim Chrzanowski Mike Viola Dave Johnson Fred Dahlgren Jerry Levine Report There were 4 chits. 1. Resolve the alignment process for the support stands. [G. Labik] 2. Look at using pillow block bearing to replace fabricated bearing. [L. Dudek] 3. Make sure that VVSA can't wobble when locked in place. This could affect the Romer Arm. [B.Stratton] 4. Resolve optimal number of fixtures for the VV Prep Station with Strykowsky (2 or 3 versus 1). {Reiersen] The presentation and description of the prep station was clear and provided the committee the necessary information to conclude that the review was successful pending resolution of chits. Charge questions, and committee response: 1. Have all the Chits been addressed? 1. Yes, subject to revisions based on the resolution of the above chits, followed by sign-off and release per project procedures. 2. Does the analysis adequately underpin the design and have they been checked? 1. Yes the analysis adequately underpins the design. A question regarding the checking needs to be resolved, followed by sign-off and release per project procedures. 3. Do the drawings define the design adequately to be used as the sole basis for fabrication and acceptance of the support fixture? 1. Yes, any modifications from the above chits, and the addition of the lateral support should complete the drawings. The requisition should be authorized by the RLM prior to issue. 4. Has safety been adequately addressed in the design of the support fixture? 1. Yes 5. Can the support fixture, with Peer Review incorporated changes, be fabricated and installed within the budget and schedule identified in the project baseline? 1. Yes, the fixture can be fabricated and installed within the budget and schedule pending comparison to actual values in the schedule. Thanks, Mike Michael J.
