Summary

Error when using Excel 97- Excel Error 1004.
This may be caused by using the character "
in the parameters section of the Excel Report.
Solution- remove any " characters and try again.

Description

When running an Excel Report the report fails with an error message  

Run-time error '1004'
Application-defined or object-defined error

 

Problem cause

The Excel report generator cannot cope with the " character used in the Parameters section.

Solution

Remove any " characters from the parameters section for the Excel Report (Measures- Parameters- Variables) and try again.
