Brooks Subject: Core weight estimate Attachments: Field Period Assy Wt (3).xls H.M., Art, I've attached the Excel spread sheet which is probably the most up-to- date estimates of the NCSX stellarator core weights. The summary is in the "Field Period Assy Wt." tab. The VV is ~6.8 kip/period and the PFCs + NBL duct are about 12 kip/ period. these should be applied at the vessel support points. The cryostat is assumed to be 3500 per period applied at the PF5&6 support brackets. The remaining 4.5 kip should probably be added uniformly to the MCWF shell via an increase in density. -Fred
