Kalish Subject: TF Sag from Dead Weight Attachments: image001.jpg Tom, You wondered about the TF coil deflection under gravity loads. To answer this question, I picked up my smeared winding pack model and gave it the following: * a density of 5200 kg/m^3 (this is based on Joe’s 1375 lb and my model’s 0.1206 m^3 volume) * a vertical acceleration of 9.8 m/s^2 A plot of the vertical deflections is attached. Notice that the maximum vertical deflection is about 0.7 mm. Is this sufficient? Mike: Any need for official documentation?
