The attached sketches show the full set of trim coils that we are selecting from. Of that we would like to have (for day 1) 2 sets of 6 identical coils, each of which is on the same coil type and in the same position (ie stellarator symmetric). This gives a total of 12 coils. The preferred locations are: 2&4, 2&5 or 5&7, all of which are on the type A coil. Location 2 is the bottom of the A coil (which becomes the top for the other half period). Location 7 is the top of the A. Locations 4 and 5 are just below and above the outboard midplane (neither coil straddles the midplane). The current levels that we must design for is 60 KAT. This is larger than I hoped for but necessary from a field error suppression standpoint. Art
