This is from the data posted in Tom's area on the P drive: "P:\departments\NCSX\Construction Info\Dimensional_Control_ Metrology\CAD_Model_Data\MC matrology data - CAD input" The max deviation was .048" for C3. After that, the max deviation dropped to 0.038". Art -----Original Message----- From: Michael C. Zarnstorff Sent: Monday, February 11, 2008 1:59 AM To: Arthur W. Brooks; Thomas G. Brown Cc: Phil Heitzenroeder Subject: winding form tolerances Art and Tom, What was the range of deviations that we actually accepted in the winding surfaces of the modular coils winding forms, as delivered? We initially specified that the winding surfaces of the winding forms should be machined to a +/- 0.010 tolerance, as I recall. Subsequent to the specification, we developed ways to recover from larger deviations. As I recall, we then accepted deviations larger than the original specification...is this correct? thanks. Mike.
