Brown Subject: 2nd VVSA END FLANGE INSPECTION DATA Attachments: 2nd VVSA End A and B.ppt Mike, I have attached a power point file of the inspection data for the second VVSA. I noticed a couple of areas that I have additional questions/concerns. 1. It seems the data on the inside and outside surface of the flange for side A and B is incomplete. In some cases only about half the flange surface is inspected. If this is due to position and access during inspection what is the plan for getting the rest of the flange inspected? 2. Some of the inspection points were not what I was expecting. This is difficult to explain but is shown in the attachment. Based on the technique we have been using of placing a ball around the actual point where the diameter of the ball is twice the distance from the actual point to the nominal surface position the surface of the ball should be tangent to the nominal surface of the flange. In several locations the inspection point seems to be embedded in the flange and not tangent. I am hoping that Major Tool might be able to explain the inspection data in these locations. mike Michael J. Cole Oak Ridge National Laboratory Bldg 5700, Rm. G306, MS 6169 Bethel Valley Road P.O.
