Zarnstorff Subject: Poincare Plots of Vacuum Field from Realigned coils Mike, Ed, I'm not sure how relevant this is but I ran some field line traces of the As-built coils before and after realigning where the error field at the edge is ~18 gauss in both cases. They are compared to the design coils (without error field). I just used the modular coils by themselves at the currents for the reference plasma scenario (1.7 T, full current, full beta) because it produced a full plasma (the solid line represents the reference plasma boundary). The iota profile is less of course (.40-.48) but for the purpose of looking at the effect of non-resonant field error at the boundary I thought it might be of interest. There isn't a whole lot of difference, though the design coils appear cleaner, the as-builts seems to have pick up some disturbance and the realign looks to have improved it somewhat. Art
