Coordination Meeting - Diagnostic Systems (WBS 3)
A coordination meeting was held on October 18 with Dave Johnson, Wayne Reiersen, and Bob Siummons. Three topics were discussed:
WBS | |
Scope of work for CDR | |
Work plans and resource requirements |
Reiersen provided a revised WBS Dictionary. The revised WBS for Diagnostic Systems is posted here.
The revised WBS also reflects the new guidance that everything required at or before the start of initial ohmic operations (Phase 3) should be part of the construction project. Johnson indicated that this would represent a significant up tick in the cost of WBS 3, in the range of 1-2M$.
Bob Simmons noted that we should not be using the words Total Project Cost or TPC. Rather, we should be using the words Construction Project Cost.
The work plan for WBS 3 leading up to the CDR consists of the following steps:
Preliminary resource allocations for this scope of work are as follows:
Johnson - 9 weeks | |
Takahashi - 4 weeks | |
Cole - 5 weeks (under ORNL budget) |
One issue that did come up had to do with who was responsible for the field cabling between Diagnostics Systems (WBS 3) and Central I&C (WBS 5). Johnson advocated making Ramakrishnan (Power Systems, WBS 4) responsible for the work because that was who did that work on NSTX. Reiersen agreed to follow-up on this issue with Ramakrishnan and Oliaro in upcoming coordination meetings.
