Summary

1. Final Design reviews.  The option of moving the VV FDR was discussed at Friday's status meeting.  Goranson was quite pessimistic about the prospect of moving the FDR forward a month.  Nelson still holds out some hope that this could be accomplished.  (Nelson to resolve.)  Assuming the plans for the VV FDR stay as they are now with a late May FDR, it is likely that the VV and MCWF FDRs would be combined into a single external FDR.  A series of peer reviews would be scheduled in advance of the formal, external FDR to satisfy our internal design verification requirements. (Reiersen to schedule peer reviews and review plans to assure that CD-3 deliverables are addressed.)

2. Materials testing.  Nelson reported on progress in this area.  A matrix of test samples and schedule for producing them has been prepared.  Nelson is preparing memo documenting what we need to derive from each of the tests.  Heitzenroeder and Chrzanowski are contacting Dick Reed later today to ask him to review our test plans and previous results.

3. Modular coil and VV FDR deliverables.  Nelson reported that the requested lists are being prepared.  Williamson has already provided a partial drawing  list for WBS 14. Procurement plan input has been received for both WBS 12 and 14.  A meeting is schedule for tomorrow to review VV analysis plans and resource requirements.

4. Freezing the geometry.  Brooks and Brown are still working to resolve the Type A - Type A interferences during FP assembly.  Brown is confident that the remaining work will involve whittling out the pockets for the wings on the Type A winding form and not require further changes to the VV shell or MC winding orientation.  Nelson reported that Cole should be very close to resolving the port issues.  A follow-up peer review will be scheduled ASAP to close out chits and open technical issues from the previous peer review. (Nelson to schedule follow up peer review.)
