NCSX Procurement Update of 2/16/05
1. MCWF
procurement
- Metal Tek has located a
supplier for the complete material order at a reasonable price and has
initiated the order. This eliminates a significant risk
factor.
- Upgrading of the C-1
casting continues.
- Major Tool
reports that 100% of the programming for machining the C coil has been
completed. Additionally, in
preparation for receipt of C-1, Major Tool has been running tool path
simulations through Vericut software.
2. VVSA
procurement
- Major Tool continues to
machine the dies.
- Major Tool and PPPL are
continuing to discuss contractual issues related to the fact that the
prototype dies could not be re-used as planned. Work progress is not
impacted.
