the test facility and returned to the manufacturing facility.
Preparations are being made to gain access to the lead area in order
determine the cause of the fault and needed

B-2
- The B-1 and B-2 are
alternating in roughing operations.
- Due to an unplanned outage
of the Lucas 40T, some of B1 operations are being performed on the Mitsu-30.
- B2 operations will continue
on the Lucas 40T when it returns to service, which was expected to be earlier
this week.
- The project’s delivery
milestones are September 20 and November 29.

- The B-6 passed final X-ray
at MQS and returned to MetalTek for stress relief and inspection.
- Both B-5 and B-6 are
expected to ship to MTM in a single shipment June
30.
3. VVSA procurement (Major Tool and
Machine)
- VVSA #2 is staged for final
machining operations.
- VVSA #3: Being re-inspected
in preparation to beginning re-work of the vessel profile at the end, near the
flanges, to correct an out-of-tolerance condition similar in nature to what
occurred on VVSA#1.
4. TF Assemblies procurement (Everson Tesla,
Incorporated)
- The induction braze unit
loaned from Fermi Lab was received at ETI.
- Mold and winding fixture
conceptual designs were approved by the tech. rep. Mike Kalish. Outside
machine shop will be released to order material this
week.
- Sample bend tests and
tooling adjustments continue to make good
progress.
- Wedge material delivery
schedule is still an issue. There is a 3 week slip in the delivery schedule
from the intended supplier, Outokumpu. ETI and Tesla are contacting alternate
sources of 316LN stainless identified and suggested by PPPL. Alternatives to
316LN are being evaluated as a potential
fallback.
