1. Modular Coil fabrication
(PPPL)
MC Fabrication summary status:
4 in
production
2 completed through VPI prep

completed.
C-2 Coil
C-3 Coil
- Cooling tube installed.
Electrical and pressure tests conducted.
- VPI preparations have
started.
- VPI prep completion
milestone is June 9. Saturday work is planned to maintain
schedule.
C-4 Coil
- Winding side A
- VPI prep completion
milestone is July 20. On schedule.
C-5 Coil
- Stud installation in
progress
- VPI prep completion
milestone is August 29. On schedule.
2. MCWF procurement (Energy
Industries of Ohio)
MCWF summary status:
All 18 castings
have been poured
2 in foundry operations
11 in machining operations

delivered.
Machine tool status update: Repairs were
completed on both the Mitsu-40 and the Lucas. Operations resumed on both at the
end of last week.
Machining operations (Major Tool and
Machine):
A-1
- The A-1 is in final
inspection. Delays were incurred due to minor issues in dimensional inspection
and data analysis. May be released for shipment this week.
- The project’s delivery
milestone is June 8.
A-2
- Resumed 3-axis operations
on the Mitsu-40 following repairs.
- Completed machining the
first side and started on the second side. Forecast completing Mitsu-40
operations June 9.
- The project’s delivery
milestone is July 13.
A-3 and A-4
- The A-3 and A-4 are in
3-axis operations in tandem on the Mitsu-30.
- The project’s delivery
milestones are August 16 and October 24.
- The A-3 will move to the
Mitsu-40 after A-2 moves off.
B-1 and B-2
- The B-1 and B-2 are
alternating in roughing operations on the Lucas 40T. Operations resumed
following repairs.
- The project’s delivery
milestones are September 20 and November 29.
A-5, A-6, B3, B4, and
C-6
- The B-4 was received from
MetalTek
- The A-5, A-6, B-3, B-4, and
C-6 are in the queue for roughing operations on the Lucas
40T.
Foundry operations (MetalTek International):
B-4
- The B-4 completed foundry
operations and was shipped to Major Tool.
B-5
- The B-5 is beginning weld
upgrades.
B-6
- The B-6 completed initial
X-ray and is in excavation and mapping.
3. VVSA procurement (Major
Tool and Machine)
- VVSA #2: undergoing
inspection and port removal.
- VVSA #3: Ports are being
installed.
4. TF Assemblies procurement (Everson Tesla,
Incorporated)
- Mike Kalish
(tech. rep) met with ETI personnel at PPPL. Value engineering changes to the
wedge design to improve fabricability were
approved.
- Fermi Lab has
indicated that the paper work for the induction braze unit loan is complete
and has begun preparing the unit for shipment to Everson. We should see
the loan agreement here at PPPL for signature in the next few
days.
- One complete
set of G11 Lead Filler Blocks as well as several spools of ground and turn to
turn insulation including Kapton tape were delivered to
Everson.
