MC Fabrication summary status:
5 coils through
winding operations and VPI
C-5 Coil
A-1 Coil
- Transferred to autoclave
last week. Scheduled for VPI 10/26.
A-2 Coil
- Winding pack dimensional
adjustments in progress. Winding milestone is Nov.

A-3 Coil
- Cladding installed. Ground
wrap being applied. Winding milestone is Jan. 9
B-1 Coil
- Winding form is next in the
queue for winding operations. Winding milestone is Feb.

2. MCWF procurement (Energy Industries of
Ohio)
MCWF summary status:
All 18 castings
have completed foundry operations
9 shipped to
PPPL
Machining operations (Major Tool and
Machine):
B-2
- The B-2 is in final
inspection.
- The project’s delivery
milestone is November 1 for B2. It is expected to ship on
schedule.
A-4
- The A-4 completed 3-axis
machining on the Mitsu-40, and is now in 5-axis machining on the U5.
- The project’s delivery
milestone is November 20 for A-4. It is expected to ship on
schedule.
B-3
- The B-3 completed some
additional operations on the Lucas 40T and is now in 3-axis machining on the
Mitsu-40.
- The project’s delivery
milestone is December 18 for B-3.
B-4
- The B-4 is on the Lucas
40T.
- The project’s delivery
milestone is January 16 for B-4.
B-5
- The B-4 is on the Mitsu-30
- The project’s delivery
milestone is February 15 for B-5.
A5, A-6, B-6, and
C-6
- The A-5, A-6, B-6, and C-6
are in the queue for machining.
3. TF Assemblies
procurement (Everson Tesla, Incorporated)
- Winding facility
preparations continue.
- Start-up of braze unit
completed. Sample braze joints to be made this week.
- Conductor installed in
winding line to verify taping and tensioning machine
operation.
- On schedule for delivery of
first three coils in February.
