System Integration Team (SIT) Meeting of Monday, March 19, 2007
1.
ETC Update Issues
- Status summary was issued
by Ron
- Estimates submitted and
internally reviewed:
- WBS 81, 82
- WBS 85 (but revisions
required, and e-beam mapping plan needed.)
- A draft e-beam mapping
plan has been documented by Fredrickson. A follow-up peer review is
planned for Tusday, March 27. Action: Hutch to
arrange.
- WBS 6 (but forced-air
bakeout system needs to be estimated. Action:
Larry)
- Estimates submitted (or
imminent) and reviews to be scheduled.
- WBS 2, 3, 4, 5, 14
(winding ops). Action: Ron to schedule reviews this
week.
- Estimates still
outstanding. Job manager input due first week of April.
- Cryostat (WBS
171)
- Peer review of proposed
cryostat architecture conducted last week provided basis for proceeding with
estimate, including vendor quotes for fabrication. Gettelfinger is
following up.
- Coil Services (WBS
16)
- Next meeting will be
scheduled March 22 at 1:30, during ORNL team visit to PPPL. Action:
Hutch & Mike C. to arrange.
- Modular coil interfaces and
assembly (WBS 14, 18)
- Peer review friction
coating showed alumina option to be attractive. Shim design and cycling
testing proceeding accordingly.
- Main outstanding issue is
design of shims in the unbolted areas on the inboard flange. Working
group meeting scheduled for March 22 at 8:30, during ORNL team visit to
PPPL.
2. Project Control
(Ron)
- Management Reserve
disbursement plan. Addressed near-term schedule issues for modular coil
assembly readiness and cost estimating.
- February cost performance
highlights:
- Cost Variances: Modular
coil winding operations (investigation of Type B metrology issues), VV
system procurements (Heating/Cooling hose saddles), FPA
tooling/constructability, magnetic diagnostics.
- Schedule variances
(negative): MC interface design, MCWF production, MC winding operations, FPA
tooling/constructability.
- Schedule variances
(positive): FPA operations.
- March job status meeting:
scheduled for March 30.
