My only comment on the cost breakdown is to add some time and $ for shipping and increase the management cost to $35k (average of high and low management costs).  I have attached my version of the schedule, since I could not hear the conversation very well.  If the losing contractor only goes through step 2, we only double-spend $75k, counting management costs.  If we pick a winner by August 12, maybe we would limit the double expenditure to $25 k.

Bob,

 

Phil’s table is shown below.  The incremental cost of having the second supplier begin work on a prototype reflecting the production coil design should be the cost of the first two tasks ($50K) plus order 15% per Phil’s guidance.  I would round it off to $60K.  Comments?
