Summary of Results

The committee judged the review to be successful. However, the committee spent quite some time discussing the number bolts in the C-C connection.  It was finally concluded that we should continue with the current plan to add six bolts and shims top and 6 6 more bottom.  Although a fewer number of bolts might also be acceptable, it was felt that the modest incremental cost for all the bolts was justified by the additional risk reduction that it would provide. This may be revisited if the access studies indicate access limitations, but barring this, we will proceed with all bolts.   It was also recommended that the FDR for the C-C interface design be decoupled from the tool development so that this FDR can be held as soon as possible.
