Bob,

The next step on this is to prepare a Safety Assessment Document (SAD) for NCSX.  This document will be prepared in accordance with ESHD 5008 Section 11, Chapter 1.  It will include descriptions of the NCSX systems and components, including their key safety aspects, and a failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA).  The PHA table will be finalized and included as part of the SAD.  The NSTX SAD provides a good example of this  (see http://nstx.pppl.gov/nstx/Project_Control_Documents/Safety%20Assessment/ and http://nstx.pppl.gov/nstx/Engineering/NSTX_Eng_Site/Technical/General/NSTX_FMEA_61_4.doc).

The NCSX SAD must be approved prior to the start of operations.  Work should begin on this document at least one year prior.

Jerry
