Critical Issues (Reiersen)

Systems Analysis Task List (Reiersen)

Summary

Action items from previous week were reviewed:

1. Systems analysis tasks.  Reiersen provided a list of systems analysis tasks that was generated following a meeting on Friday, January 16.  The list identifies specific tasks, deliverables, responsibilities, resource requirements, and start and finish constraints.  The list is being reviewed by Brooks and Nelson.  Following that, it will be reviewed with Strykowsky and incorporated into our work plans.

2. Metrology.  No report.  The systems analysis task list included an important metrology task.

3. Materials testing.  Nelson reported on progress in this area.  3 sample types have been identified.  Straight bars will be used for compression and flexure testing.  A 2x2 racetrack coil will be used for tensile and fatigue testing.  It will also be used to measure cure shrinkage.  PJ Fogarty will update the model based on recommendations provided this past Friday. A straight tee will be used to fabricate a full cross-section of the winding pack.  The full cross-section will be used for flexure and torsion testing.  Compression tests could also be performed on short samples. Nelson is compiling a table that lists [1] the potting articles required, [2] the test samples that will be fabricated from the potting articles, and [3] the tests and instrumentation requirements. A SOW is also being prepared.

4. Modular coil and VV FDR deliverables.  Nelson reported that the requested lists are being prepared.  Williamson has already provided a partial drawing  list for WBS 14. Procurement plan input has been received for both WBS 12 and 14.

Simmons reported that he and Strykowsky are working to pull together the CD-2 deliverables by the end of this week, but that progress was slower than our desires.
