NCSX-CALC-14-001-00
  • BU Data Included in CALC
Nonlinear Analysis of the NCSX Modular Coil and Shell Structure   Fan (Williamson) Approved
NCSX-CALC-14-002-00 Modular Coil Thermal Analysis Examine the heat transfer characteristics of a local model of a 10 turn modular coil during and after an operational pulse Freudenberg (Nelson) Approved
NCSX-CALC-14-003-00
  • BU Data based on out dated (as of 2008) design concept - so not included.
Integrated Structure

Documents a nonlinear FEA model for NCSX coil support structure and its analytic results for the four loading cases, representing four stages during NCSX operation.

Fan (Brooks) Approved
NCSX-CALC-14-004-01
  • No BU analysis since this was essentially a report of testing.
Shim Testing Results of test program to document the performance of the shims Freudenberg

NCSX-CALC-14-005-00 Welded Joint FDR Structural analysis of the NCSX Modular Coil (MC) assembly field period welding. Freudenberg (Williamson) Approved
NCSX-CALC-14-006-00 Eddy Current Time Constants Several analyses of eddy current time constants based on various e-mails. Brooks (Williamson) Approved
NCSX-CALC-14-007-00 Non-Linear Modular Coil Analysis Examine the structural characteristics of the NCSX modular coil shell and windings. Freudenberg (Williamson) Approved
NCSX-CALC-14-008-00 Modular Coil Bolted Joint Analysis

Structural analysis of the NCSX Modular Coil (MC) assembly is presented. The analysis focuses on the outboard coil-to-coil bolted connections (so-called A-A, A-B, B-C & C-C) in an effort to determine theacceptability of these mechanical joints.

Freudenberg (Williamson) Approved
NCSX-CALC-14-009-00 CC Connection Analysis Structural analysis of the NCSX Modular Coil (MC) C to C connection is presented. Freudenberg (Williamson) Approved
NCSX-CALC-14-010-00 Modular Coil Lead Cooling Thermal Analysis Examine the heat transfer characteristics of a local model of the lead area of the modular coil during and after an operational pulse Freudenberg (Williamson) Approved
NCSX-CALC-14-011-00 EM and Structural Analysis of Leads

Determine the worst electromagnetic (EM) loads on the modular coil leads and evaluate them structurally.

Williamson (Freudenberg) Approved

SE140-230-r0 The objects are linked to the specification, report, or drawing on the engineering website or the drawing archive on P: drive. There are four analysis tasks in progress, for leads analysis, fault loads, and thermal analysis. When they are posted, the mod coil design documentation should be complete.
