Summary - This data sheet is for the 1102 modular coil set.  It is posted as an interim design for the purpose of permitting long lead time analyses to be completed prior to the CDR.  A data sheet will be published for the conceptual design (based on the M45 coil set) as soon as the information becomes available. Data files highlighted below are on the PPPL FTP server in the following directory: ftp://ftp.pppl.gov/pub/abrooks/NCSX_COIL_DATA/li383_1.4m/modular/10_17_00/

Plasma Shape - The original li383 (full current, high beta) fixed boundary plasma shape was shrunk in size by 18%.  The surface is defined in plas.li383_1.4m.  (For a discussion of defining surfaces in Fourier harmonics, click here.)

First Wall Geometry - The surface is defined in ftp://ftp.pppl.gov/pub/abrooks/NCSX_COIL_DATA/li383_1.4m/FirstWall/vvfw_surf.112701.

Coil Geometry - The coil geometry is defined by in 'filament' format in ftp://ftp.pppl.gov/pub/abrooks/NCSX_COIL_DATA/li383_1.4m/modular/11_02_01/coils.li383_110201b.  (For a discussion of the 'filament' file format, click here.)  This file includes 3 unique modular coils and 5 pairs of PF coils.  The three modular coils are mirrored and rotated, resulting in 18 modular coils altogether.  There are 18 TF coils.  Technical data for each coil can be found here.

Reference Scenario Data - Current waveforms and temperature histories are provided for the 1.7T, 2T, and 350kA scenarios.

The magnetic field in the vicinity of the TMPs and NBs has been calculated.  Data is available in the form of field maps
